About CHANGE AGENTS UK
CHANGE AGENTS UK are creating a force for a sustainable future that brings together young people, graduates and organisations that want to change. Our aim is to grow a learning, development and action based organisation driven by the young people and graduates it is designed to support; an organisation which helps people develop skills, knowledge and behaviours to enhance their employability whilst driving the sustainability agenda in the UK and beyond. The organisation will be a catalyst for action, creating a critical mass of collaboration between young people committed to being change agents, change for a cleaner, greener, resilient and equitable world.
Today’s young people face an uncertain future. Employment, skills and education are critical issues and recent trends in unemployment coupled with education reforms mean that their future employment opportunities and role as citizens could be severely diminished. When pressures of climate change, global inequality, resource scarcity and a range of other key issues are considered, the picture can be pretty gloomy. At CHANGE AGENTS UK we want to re-paint this future, and we want young people to be architects of their own futures.
At CHANGE AGENTS UK we will….
- Provide learning and training opportunities for its members based on the skills for sustainability literacy and employability
- Offer experiences such as volunteering, internships, paid placements and learning activities that give members the chance to develop themselves and to drive sustainability in communities, businesses and communities.
- Give a platform for young people to collaborate, share experiences, gather and join together as a critical mass.
- Create crowd based opportunities that allow young people to work together on real life, real world problems such as research, positive action and projects.
- Inform research and consultation on learning, employability, sustainability and related issues.
- Encourage our members/young people to shape the activities of the organisation, responding to their desires, ideas and creativity.
CHANGE AGENTS UK will…
- Enhance the ability and increase the capacity of young people motivated by sustainability issues to act, through their professional and personal lives.
- Increase the understanding and motivation for sustainability (environmental, social and economic responsibility) amongst young people through education, communities and society.
- Inform education (formal and informal) and embed Education for Sustainable Development and Sustainability literacy across communities and society.
